Summer Camp News

Our second annual Summer Camp ended this week. 20 teams, great weather and plenty of smiles, we couldn’t have asked for any more!

Over the last two weeks our girls have trained hard and prepared well. Our camp staff this year was excellent, consisting of 5 college coaches and 2 professional players. Their soccer knowledge and training was of the highest level.

Last season’s “Top 3 players” and “Just Feet” competition winners were presented with their awards in appreciation for their efforts over the spring season. Good luck to all our players in the fall, the selection process starts again on August 17th!

Our first week consisted of learning the basics, defending, passing and shooting. Shooting being the most popular station for obvious reasons! Each day ended in 4v4 play, which the girls really enjoyed. This will be a major factor in this years training for all teams.

Bad weather tried to get the better of us on Wednesday when we had to cancel at Amelia. However, we moved up to Wall 2 Wall and trained indoors. Thank you to all the parent’s who had to rearrange their schedules; the girls had a great time!

For the second week of camp teams warmed up through skill work and fun activities preparing to scrimmage for the last hour. Individual team coaches arrived ready to play 8v8 or 11v11 depending on the age, our camp staff became referees, and the whole week was fantastic.

Good luck this week in Cardinal Cup. And a big thank you to our Camp staff listed below:
