This past weekend was the official kick off of the Cardinal Fall season. With 80 teams participating in the largest ever Cardinal Cup we managed to capture two tournament championships.

With temperatures in the mid 70’s, conditions usually associated with late fall, players couldn’t have asked for better soccer weather.

With 20 Cardinal teams participating in the event, the club was very well represented. Younger teams supporting older teams, older teams watching younger sisters and parents getting to know each other.

The whole idea behind the event is to prepare for the up-coming season. Team start to connect with each other and coaches get the opportunity to familiarize themselves with new and old players. With 4 games guaranteed there was plenty of time to work on new things and the players are able to get fit doing what they love to do.

Congratulations to our U14 Premier Team and U10 Premiere Team for winning their divisions and being crowned champions! I watched both games and have been very impressed with all our teams developed over the last 3-4 months.

Finally, thank you to Tim Gormly and the rest of the parents who helped out this weekend. Without your support and dedication the event would not have been a success.
