1. Introductions.
(coach, assistant coach, trainer if present, players and
parents, especially newcomers)
2. Paperwork – collect money, birth certificates, photos, medical release forms.
3. Review team goals, coach expectations and philosophy.
(print on a separate handout)
4. Uniforms.
(give specific information about fittings/ordering if
necessary)
5. Team camp.
(fall season only; give dates and times)
6. Tournaments.
(print tournament list from website on separate handout)
7. Training/practice schedule.
(list days, times, locations and start date, and training
center hotline)
8. League play.
(include name of league and website, level of play, start/end
date of games, and mention tryouts)
9. Fees.
(print projected budget on separate handout, including
payment schedule)
10. Bingo/fundraising.
(explain team’s Cardinal bingo obligation; other
fundraising efforts vary by team)
11. Parent volunteer list.
(discuss your needs as a coach; have a handout ready to
pass around for people to fill in their names)
12. Team bonding.
(have some ideas ready to discuss, e.g. pre-season swim
party, parent v kid game, and then turn it over to the
group)
