Merge Update 1-18-08
1/18/08
Dear Parents and Players,
This is an update on the conversations that have been taking place regarding a possible agreement between NK United, GSE Cardinals and SCSA Select. As representatives of these three clubs it is our ambition to keep the families updated as discussions move forward.
In the past four weeks representatives of GSE Cardinals and NK United met to discuss specifics of a merger between the clubs. At this most recent meeting representatives from the SCSA Select organization formally joined the conversation as a possible participant. All three clubs were represented by Board members as well as the Directors of Training for each of the organizations. In addition, the Presidents of the recreational programs GSE and SCSA were in attendance. It was clear that all three select clubs and the recreational organizations were resolved to investigating by-laws from the three select organizations to determine common ground that may exist presently in the operations of the various clubs. Representatives from all three organizations were in agreement that is was of utmost importance that any agreement be well grounded in a logical and viable structure which ensured that the strengths of the clubs as they exist at present time would be preserved and even enhanced by any agreement.
Therefore, it was agreed that a sub-committee would review the by-laws and constitutions as they currently exist and bring a formal recommendation to the table. A meeting date of February 7 was set for this information to be reviewed. It was commonly held by all that a prudent and well thought out process would ensure the best product to benefit the athletes and families represented by the people around the table. We will continue to provide updates on this process as meetings occur and progress is made. All three clubs maintain that no agreement has been entered into at this time but that further investigation was warranted.
Sincerely, Board members of NK United, SCSA Select and GSE Cardinals
